Where did spending move away from the plan?

BudgetWatch brings departmental budgets, account detail, posted charges and credits, historical comparisons, and supporting documents into one review. Filters make it possible to examine a department, reporting period, account, vendor, or individual expense without rebuilding the report in a spreadsheet.

Start with a budget category, switch the reporting period, and open an account's drivers. All accounts, vendors, amounts, and documents in this example are fictional.

Keep the expense and its explanation together.

  • Monthly and year-to-date budget comparisons
  • Account and department reconciliation
  • Vendor, source, journal, quarter, and amount filters
  • Expense drivers and receipt or invoice review

Review a category in its reporting context.

Choose a reporting year and month, compare current or custom periods, and narrow department coverage. The six categories use the same review structure. ADMIN is an administrative expense category; system configuration is excluded from the public demo.

Follow an unfavorable variance to its drivers.

Budget and actual charts, account summaries, monthly comparisons, and prior-year lookbacks help locate the change. Open an account, then narrow the driver list to the current month, over-budget items, or credits.

Keep the source detail available.

The transaction register retains account, department, source, journal, reference, posting dates, and amounts. Search, filters, and pagination make a large ledger manageable; a document view illustrates the supporting receipt or invoice. The demonstration has no connection to a financial system.
